Guitar Rig 6 - UI locked - nothing is selectable

Guitar Rig 6 - Nothing is selectable
This has happened in several saved projects that use Guitar Rig 6.
After the project is saved then re-opened, Launching GR6 from inside Gigi Performer the UI opens as expected but nothing is selectable.
(i sense this has already been discussed, but did not find the original post)

Opening a new Instance has the same result, the UI is ‘locked’ and no UI element can be selected.

.

Was it working before?

What changed?

it was working in the sense of; start a new project, add GR6 and make all the adjustments (at this point GR6 works as expected) , In GR6 save a preset etc. Then Close the GR6 UI, save the GigPerformer project.

Mac or windows? AU or VST?

I have GR6 on Windows. I can check the behavior tonight.

Windows 10 x64 VST3

I tried, but I can’t reproduce it. It is working as expected. You’re sure that you’re not mixing, by any chance, vst and vst3? Some plugins do not work well if different plugin formats are mixed (not sure if that is also the case with gr6).

Maybe you can upload a minimal gigfile that exhibits the issue on your system. Then I could try and see if there’s the same problem on my system

SOLUTION
IF UI IS NOT WORKING - MAKE SURE ONLY USE ONLY VST3 IN PROJECT

@ Frank1119

Your advice on finding mismatched VST / VST3 in the same project worked.
the culprit was: JamOrigin - MIDI Guitar 3 VST
Everything else was VST3.
Once swapping it out, and saving the project, GR6 UI works as expected..!
~ thank you

Not exactly what I anticipated, but apparently also mixing plugin formats from different vendors may cause problems.

Very good you solved the issue :grinning:

That should not be a thing. Sounds like some funky GUI interference. If you put that VST back in again, does Guitar Rig fail again?

I thought MIDI Guitar 3 was still in beta – you should report this issue to them.

Add to that: the newest build for MG3 added a feature where you can select a different audio interface for it…within the plugin.

What could go wrong?

Well, that’s a disaster waiting to happen!

Precisely.

I’ve been waiting for disaster to strike for months while pre-beta testing the version of MG3 that J.O. publicly released a few days ago and it just hasn’t struck yet.

The audio input system referred to was designed to enable use of the hex version of the plugin in hosts that do not support multichannel audio input plugins. It works very well except for in Logic Pro where it has some issues (which are being worked on).

Anyway, please share data on bugs/crashes/etc. with J.O. via the forum or directly.
